278: The Fear Of Judgement And Growing A TikTok Following To Over 400K With Sam Hutson

This week we are joined by Sam Hutson from the Crove Media YouTube Channel. He talks about how he grew his huge TikTok following and bringing it over to YouTube.

About Sam:

I started my Youtube journey back in 2019 as a way to do something creative with my spare time. It took a long time I’ve been a photographer and videographer since I was 18 but I really started my career when I was 20 when I landed a job working as a writer for the UK’s best selling photography magazine called Digital Photo. From there, I was promoted to Technical Editor where I was lucky enough to be in charge of the gear review section of the My name is Sam Hutson I am 28 years old living in Paris, Tennessee. My wife and I started Crove Media in 2019 which allowed me to leave my job of 11 years with the railroad. 6 months in we decided to start Crove Food Co. as an opportunity to use my videography skills to make content around our passion for great food. We started posting recipe videos to YouTube weekly, then saw the boom of TikTok and focused on that platform. We have grown that to over 400,000 followers and our goal for 2022 is to bring that audience over to YouTube!

277: A New Video A Week With Tom Calton

This week we are joined by Tom Calton. He talks about how he gave himself 5 years to succeed on YouTube and success came much quicker. He also discusses consistency on Youtube, a video every week, working habits, and MUCH MORE!

About Tom:

I started my Youtube journey back in 2019 as a way to do something creative with my spare time. It took a long time I've been a photographer and videographer since I was 18 but I really started my career when I was 20 when I landed a job working as a writer for the UK's best selling photography magazine called Digital Photo. From there, I was promoted to Technical Editor where I was lucky enough to be in charge of the gear review section of the magazine, testing loads of new cameras and lenses and testing them for review in the magazine. After almost 4 years with the magazine I decided I'd had enough of writing about photography and wanted to take more images, so I quit my job to go freelance and I've never looked back. I now own 2 companies - one specialising in wedding photography and videography, with the other being a media agency that focuses on working with corporate clients to create a mixture of digital content, including photography, videography, 2D and 3D animation, illustration, and graphic design. I employ 2 full time photographer/videographers that work with me (Paul & George) and these are the guys who also help me produce content for the YouTube channel.

275: Using YouTube To Change Girls Lives With Sarah and Kaitlyn

This week we are joined by Sarah and Kaitlyn from the Answering Questions No One Does YouTube channel. We talk about their WHY as to what made them start a channel, making a difference in young girls lives and using YouTube to do so and SO MUCH more!

About Sarah and Kaitlyn:

We have been best friends since we met in 1st grade (over 15 years ago). In December 2018, our sophomore year of college, we launched our channel with a mission. We realized kids in this day and age are so lost and confused due to the amount of “advice” on what a good, healthy life looks like from celebrities and influencers who are lost themselves.

The proof is in the pudding: Gen Z is statistically the most depressed, anxious, and suicidal generation of all time. Our channel intercepts the noise of the world and delivers life-giving truth to middle schoolers, high schoolers and college students on everything from relationships, to sex, friendship, spirituality and mental health. Since starting our channel, we have brought our mission into the real world by speaking at universities and high schools. If you would like us to speak at your school, church, or event, please email us at sarahandkaitlyn@yourbestfriends.org.
